Touareg Late Night Show – Munich celebrates the premiere of the upper class SUV by Volkswagen
Wolfsburg/Munich, 11 February 2010 - The atmosphere was in proper style, with skyline and night sky, when Volkswagen—in conjunction with moderator Thomas Gottschalk, who was in good humour, and numerous prominent guests—provided for a world premiere of a special kind at the Munich Postpalast. Always taking centre stage: the new Touareg and the new Touareg Hybrid.
The programme, moderated by Thomas Gottschalk in the classic style of "Late Night" shows, was entirely committed to the new premium SUV by Volkswagen. The star violinist David Garrett, who gave a much acclaimed taste of the spectrum of his art, and the actor Thomas Kretschmann, who had flown in directly from Hollywood, took care that the atmosphere conformed with the event. Germany’s stand-up comedian Michael Mittermeier, actor Thomas Heinze, the bewitching sand-performance artist Kseniya Simonova, Leslie Mandoki with his Soulmates and not least the winning team from Dakar, Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz, rounded off the programme. More than 600 guests and celebrities hailing from radio and television, industry and politics did their share to add glamour to the event in the Bavarian state capital.
Moderator Thomas Gottschalk and experts from Volkswagen provided the audience of invited guests with background information all about the new upper class SUV. Dr. Harald Ludanek, head of overall vehicle development at Volkswagen, said: "Technically, the new Touareg is the most innovative ‘VW’ since the brand has existed. Everybody has worked fervently on this car day and night. And we can be proud of the result." The new Touareg and the new Touareg Hybrid will be launched in Germany in the upcoming weeks.
